Hi ladies,

Give me a looooong weekend every weekend. I just loved having time to scrap ..... and not design or plan classes or make & takes, just create things I love for myself. Sounds selfish I know, but sometimes you really miss having the freedom to do this.

I joined in on some of the fun challenges over at scrapboutique's cyber crop.

This is based on a Michelle Fowler sketch & I have no idea where I found it. Sorry I tried to google it with no luck.

This was the Sunday roast.... a blind scrap. Lot of fun as you don't really know how it will turn out!!!

I love this page. I have been wanting to do it for a long time but haven't felt ready... I was very close to my Nan and have missed her dearly since she passes away 18 months ago. Her life was an inspiration to me and she will always will hold a very special place in my heart...........yes, I do have tears in my eyes writing this !

Journaling reads "Did you ever know that your my hero?"

I have had this LO in my head for a while. As you can see I am loving my new tree stamp by unity.

Hello, I hope you all had a great Easter break. I loved how life slowed down for a couple of weeks. We are back if full swing now with the kids back to school.

One thing I did over Easter was lots of Scrappin.....Oh It was the best. My Mojo was flowing so I just ran with it. DH was on night duty so at last count I think i made seven layouts, one canvas & two cards. Can't wait to share them with you all soon.

Today I have a mini album to share with you. I love mini albums as they make the cutest gifts for people. This one would make a sweet Mothers Day gift.

Products Used:-

Scallop square Bigz Die (the one out of our summer mini) Yes it is still available to order as a carryover product. 115950 $42.95

I love this die as it cuts through fabric like butter. My pages are made from Duck Cloth (spotlight) and the covers are book board covered with fabric.

I have stamped with StazOn ink the Fleur De Li's image from Bliss (sale-a-bration set). I then sponged some cherry cobbler ink over the outer edges of the fabric square & sprayed it with my shimmer paint mist (home made glimmer mist using shimmer paint). I have machine stitched some black card stock to form the pages.

Finished off with a felt heart & button. I have set some jumbo eyelets (118431 $17.95 for 60 eyelets) using my crop-a-dile (108362 $54.95) and tied together with back satin ribbon (117285 $16.95 13.7 mtr roll).

I have been doing a few guest appearances with the gorgeous Embellies Girls. This is one of the cards I taught recently. Perfect for mothers day.

We used Pocket Silhouette stamp set & some of the beautiful Bella Rose papers (retired).

Hi & thanks for being so patient while I tool a blogging break. I am back feeling better that ever with lots of projects to share.

This is a class I taught recently using the emboss resist papers Presto. It was cased from a page in the summer mini (now finished).

Another page using the some more papers from this range. We had so much fun using brayers to colour the paper. It really is a fun techniques to try.

I have lot more to share over the next week.

Inspiration Day 2

Today was about adding the backgrounds to the canvas pages. Watch the video HERE.

I was challenged by what product I have in my stash, so I just played & improvised with I had. This was part of the fun. Some pages were OK, some terrible others I liked. But I am learning lot by playing with product that has been sitting getting dusty on my shelves. Which I guess is the idea.

I used a chipboard bird as a mask & sprayed my homemade shimmer paint mist.

I drew around the edge of the bird with a sharpie.

I used the negative piece from punches & die cuts to paint my hearts. I used the golden fluid acrylic paint, painted and spayed the edges as Donna demonstrated in the video. I love this look!

I used Ink this time instead of paint.

I sprayed with my home made shimmer paint mist over a Christmas decoration (branch).

Stamped with paint (notably ornate) and sponge over a scalloped circle die cut to create clouds. I sprayed some mist at the bottom & stamped with back stazOn ink.

I sat down last night to finish of my Donna Downey Mixed media album and happened to visit her blog, as she mentioned on Friday night there was something BIG happening. Curiosity got the better of me.

It's about the PROCESS!!!!!!

Day one: Photo transfer onto Canvas

( you get I am totally sucked in by now)

So last night I gave it ago. It was messy and lots of fun. Some were great, some were terrible and some I forgot steps.........but I completely get it. IT"S ABOUT THE PROCESS. It's about trying, failing, learning, experimenting & sharing the process with you along the way.

I love this one......not sure why it just worked!!!!

See the wrinkles, I forgot to run over it with a bonefolder.

I struggled getting the paper off here without tearing the image

I learnt alot about different tones in the photos, and choosing a picture with light or dark backgrounds made a difference in the finished look. I think in my next attempt I'd like to try transfering light photos onto a dark fabric....mmm still processing that one.

Just in case you want to join it I used "Derivan Matisse" Gel Medium Gloss Finish. I followed Donna's instruction, the only change i made was I spritzed water to help remove some of the paper.

I hope you both realise who much you inspire me. Some of the kids in your class decided to have a trash & treasure store at school to raise money for some recent natural disasters (floods, earth quakes etc.). We spent Saturday just hanging out together and making these bracelets & anklets to sell. You both really embraced it. We by no means claim to be expert beaders, but I was so impressed at your creativity.

Loving your work guys, but mostly loving your generous hearts.

Tribute to my Grandma

I am sad to say I lost my Grandma last a couple of weeks ago. She was 94 years old and just passed away in her sleep. She was such a strong lady whom I had a lot of respect for. We had a very rushed trip over to Western Australia and for her funeral. However, I am happy to say the funeral was a celebration of her life. She endured a lot of hardship over her life, raising three children on her own. She thought the world of her family and will be dearly missed. We had so many nice times sharing funny stories and tears remembering how remarkable she really was. I will miss you Grandma........may your soul rest in Peace.

I am sharing the LOOOOOOVE today with some sweet cards show you.

I think it is so nice to let people know how much you love and appreciate them & what better day to do that the Valentines Day.

The first card has a vintage feel, using Notably Ornate & I (Heart) Hearts Stamp Sets. One of my favourite colour combos:- Soft suede, Blushing Bride Very Vanilla & black. I have also used my Very Vintage wheel as a background.

Next is one of the New sets from our Summer Mini Catalogue Aviary.

This a birthday card I made for one of the boys friends. Having three boys under seven we get invited to lots of little boy's birthdays. It is so nice to make a card for each of them. With this design I made several and just added the monogram on later as the invites come rolling in.

Australian Flood Appeal

It is no surprise to me that Stampin Up Australia have just made this pledge which I have great pleasure sharing with you. They really are an amazingly generous company. For those of you that came along to my fundraiser last year, will remember all prizes they donated. Over $1000 worth!!!

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year

Merry Christmas! I have had a lovely break with my family and enjoyed some well earn't relaxation. I wanted to share with you my christmas card I sent out. I made 30 (two weeks before christmas) and wished I could sent one to all of you!!!

It's nice but simple as december seemed to fly! I made them in two days but pledged, again to not be so disorganised this year.

Day Twelve

This is my December daily 2009. It is an album that documents the month of December leading up to Christmas. I love everything about this project. I love the memories captured, I love the photos, I love the stories, I love watching my kids pick it up and laugh at funny thing they did last Christmas. They are only young once so I want to treasure every second of it.

This year will be my fourth December daily. I treasure everyone of them and can't wait to share each with you over the up coming weeks. All four are inspired by the very famous Ail Edwards. She is the master of this project and I can't really do it justice so I will link you to her web site where she explains the entire process.

I think this will be plenty of information to get you started.

My 2009 Album is a Donna Downey canvas album, given to me by a very beautiful friend Michelle. I have simply decorated it with felt, alphabet stickers and buttons. I love how simple the cover is. This project is not about learning fancy techniques or spending hours over you Christmas break putting pages together, it is a simple mix of photos and words to capture how magical Christmas can be. As Ali describes so well, one of the keys of success for this project is having the album structure completed in advance, so you can enjoy enjoy your Christmas break. It is not meant to be stressful. It is a fun was of documenting Christmas and celebrating along the way.

I hope this inspires you to have a go at this projest. I must admit I was a little intimidated by the work require at my first attempt in 2007. I had a 4 month old baby and 3 year old twins and my hubby had moved to sydney for work (two hours from home). But I am so glad I made the time, becuase every time I pick it up and read it my heart melts. I just LOVE it!!

I look forward to posting the pages from my 2009 December daily over the next week, and will reveal my 2010 album very soon.

Eleventh Day of Christmas

Day Eleven

Today I have a home decor project to share with you. I must admit this one dose take a while to do. I spent a rainy day last week making all of the flowers......I lost count how many, but their is a lot!!!

I used Confetti Cream cardstock (106558 $17.25 for 40 sheets A4) to make my flowers. You need approx 4 sheets of A4, if you want to use 12x12 pattern paper allow 3-4 sheets. The other essential item is a hot glue gun. You need this to make the flowers and attach them to the tree. My polystyrene Christmas tree, I bought from a cheap shop for $2. It is approx 10 inches tall.

Once I made my flowers they were sponged with soft suede ink (115657 $11.95), such a great colour for distressing. Then glued on to the tree.

Day Ten

This is a fun project you can do with your Kids or Grand kids. My boys just love them, I think it particularly appeals to little boys sense of humour!!! They will give one to each child in their class as a Christmas gift. It was so much quicker that making cards and writing on each of them.

The bag topper is once again the Top Note Die (113463 $42.95). If you fold in long ways, it fits our Medium Cello Bags (102757 $8.50 for 50) and folded short way, it fits our Small Cellophane bags (103104 $7.50 for 50). I would recommend the small as you end up using a LOT of Choc Chips!!!

I have used the reindeer from Sparkly & Bright stamp set (121568 $31.95), he is stamped in Chocolate Chip (very appropriate I thought....LOL) and his nose coloured in with a real red Marker (100052 $5.75)
He fits nicely in the 1-3/8 circle punch (119860 $30.95) and the 1-3/4 Scalloped Circle punch (119854 $33.95)

The verse on the Back reads:-

I hear you have been naughty

So Listen.......here's the scoop!

Instead of getting coal this year,

You get Reindeer POOP!

Day Nine

Today I have a layout to share with you all "Let it SNOW". Once again I have used Snow Swirled stamp set (115868 $45.95) I wasn't lying when I said it was a favourite of mine. I stamped the snow flake background with white ink. This is a different ink pad to our normal classic inks pads. It is called craft ink, it thicker and needs to be left overnight to dry. The snowy trees are made using the heat and stick powder technique found here. You don't need to use Versamark with this craft ink pad, as it is moist and sticky.

The wreath is made from one of our Sale-a-Bration stamp sets called Vintage Labels. For those of you who don't know what sale-a-brations is, it is our biggest sale of the year. Runs over Jan & Feb and every $100 you spend, you choose a free stamp set from the sale-a-bration catalogue. It's a great time to host a workshop as your guest always love getting things for free!!! You may have noticed I am using the same stamp set in a lot of different ways. In fact I only own three Christmas sets. I wanted to show you how to use you non-Christmas products in a festive way. Like your Bigshot dies, punches & non-Christmas sets. Get creative and see what you can come up with. I recently saw someone used the deer from Forest friends (116881 $24.95) and turn him into a reindeer. Put a Santa hat on anything (like my owl in day eight) and it become Christmas.

My journaling reads:-

"Well it's no surprise there is no snow at Christmas here in Australia,

but every year at the most amazing house in Thornton they have the best faux snow.

There are children everywhere squealing with excitement

as they get covered with snow.

Day Eight

I have to admit I don't have the BUG, but instead I LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE my Bigshot. A little bias I know but a far superior machine in my opinion. My Christmas tree is embossed with Vintage wall paper folder, I love this folder!!!!(120175 $15.95) and embellished with clear rhinestones (119246 $9.50)

My Santa Owl is made with our Two step Extra large Owl punch (118074 $33.95) and the Heart to Heart punch (119881 $33.95) for is hat.

Day Seven

Today I have another ornament to share with you. Some of you my recognise it from my Christmas Extravaganza Class I taught last year. I really love this ornament, especially how it is stored in it's own box.

Now back to the ornament. It is made from a retired DSP (sorry I can't think of the name right now) but i am sure you all have lot's of Christmas paper in your stash!!!! You can make it with two sheets of double sided paper.

This is my son holding it out of the box. It looks complicated but really is quite simple to make.

Day Five

Today I have some more ornaments to share. These sweet butterflies are made from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die (114507 $42.95) another exclusive SU die. The green butterfly is made from six layers and the red one is four. The more the better in my opinion as it give more dimmension. I was able to cut all six layers at once and then adhered them together with ribbon or string at the fold. I tied some bells at the end of the ribbon just to finish them off.

I am really happy with the end result. You could make these from any symmetrical punch or die you have.

Day SIX

Today I have a gift card holder to share with you! It is made from a Stampin Up! pattern paper pack called Love Letter ( 117162) $16.95 for 12 sheets. This is my absolute fave!!! I just Love the colours the designs, everything about this set. Probably because I love red!!! I plan on using them a lot for christmas, but they are beautiful for any theme. I have stamped dasher (121592 $14.95) and made him sparkle with dazziling diamonds (10203 $8.50). You can find a tutorial on this technique HERE!

Inside the gift card I have a envelope made from the the scallop envelope bigz die, another exclusive SU die. The other side is a pocket for writing your christmas wishes.

I have to say if you have a xyron it makes glueing all the leaves a lot easier. I have embellished with some red rhinestones and a small piece of brown ribbon as the trunk.

Day Three

Today I want to share with you some handmade ornaments. I love these as you can display photos of your beautiful families or even make as a gift for family or friends to hang on their Christmas tree.

Each ornament has a photo on the front and felt backing. I first made these back in 2007 with Theresa Faranda at our local scrapbook store in Newcastle, I loved them so much I wanted to have a go making them again with more current photos of our family.

I have used the Big Shot and the Top Note die and cut out 1 piece of chipboard, 1 piece of felt and a photo of your choice. I have used my new Simple alphabet Bigz die to cut the word 'JOY' from cream felt and glued it to the back and just finish off with some hand stitching. I have used my Crop-A-Dile to set a Jumbo eyelet in the corner. It can cut a hole through all of these layer with ease. What a fantastic tool!!!!

This one is made from the circles 2# die following the same technique as the Top Note die. I have just punched a Tab using the Tab punch and set the eyelet through that.

Day Two

Today I have a 12x12 layout to share 'Triming the Tree'

The tree stamp is from a favourate christmas set of mine Snow Swirled (pg 28 IB&C 115868 $45.95). I have made the Large tree using the tree stamp and my stamp-a-ma-jig (101049 $22.95 pg. 148) and keep going until I was happy with the size. I have cut it out and decorated with the tree trimmings ornaments (116893 $24.95 pg. 22) and rhinestomes.

The papers are Jolly Holiday DSP and my title is cut from Brown felt using the Bigz Alphabet die, Simple Letters Alphabet.

Day One

Mini Milk Carton Box

This is one of the new sizzix bigz dies from our catalogue the Mini Milk Carton Die. It is a bigz large dies which will cut all materials like fabric, thin metal, transparency & chipboard etc. It still fits in the standard cutting pads, no need to buy the extended pads for this die.

I have cut out four Milk Cartons, two in old olive and two in Cherry Cobbler and decorated with the Jolly Holiday designer series paper. I love this cute little holder that the milk cartons fit in. I have finished of with a tag from the Perfect Punches Stamp set. Don't you just love how how our stamps coordinates with our punches, you can find the Perfect punches set on pg. 93 IB&C clear mount 120516 $32.95 & wood mount 121560 $40.95

The Girls are Home

Many of you have been following the progress of the Two Timor Girls surgery on my blog. Their story has been covered in our local new papers and TV. If you haven't here are some links to follow and catch up.

I am both delighted and sad to say the girls are now home. After one month here in Newcastle they are back to their home village of Halilulik, West Timor. It was wonderful to meet them, but sad to see them go. Unfortunately due to sudden changes of flight time they had to pack and leave suddenly right in the middle of their farewell party.....I didn't get a chance to say goodbye!!!! They made me this beautiful card which I think I will treasure forever.

While they were still in hospital I went to visit them and we had a card making night. They loved it so much, Lenny their interpreter told me they said..... 'We don't want to sleep tonight, we want to keep doing this' Oh girls after my own heart.......LOL. I was blown away by their talent.

Here is the inside with a photo!!!!

Here we are at John Hunter Hospital, children's ward having a card making session. One of the girls is standing at the end of the table, in her Australian T shirt we gave her as a good luck gift. She still has has tubes coming out everywhere but wasn't at all fazed. The other one wore out after one hour of solid card making. She had a few more complication after the surgery and as you can see in the picture, is as thin as can be!!!!

This is the photo inside the card taken a few days before they went home. The girls are sitting in the front row and behind them is their sisters (who also loved the card making). In the middle is Lenny their interpreter, who was so much more. She was so supportive and caring with each of them. They still have some swelling at their jaw, which is improving more each day. The dressing at their neck is covering their tracheostomy site. They are both amazing courageous young ladies who I was honored to helped. They endured so much and couldn't stop smiling.

Huge thank you to Kerrie Nichols who has been by their side the entire time. She has devoted so much time taking them to local sites, shoping, visiting them in hospital (almost every day) and just being the caring person she is.

Adding Glitter to your Stamped Images

Today I am going to share with you a totorial I have put together on using Heat & Stick powder. It is perfect for adding glitter to your stamped images. I love this technique and have taught it a lot in my workshops. I wanted to put the steps up as it is easy to get them mixed up.

1. Gather you supplies

Heat tool, versamark ink pad, coloured ink pad, embossing buddy, heat & stick powder, dazziling diamonds, a powder pal and stamp. I am using Dasher (121592) $14.95.

2. Shadow stamping

To add a shadow to you stamped image first stamp in Sahara Sand ink, then using the stamp-a-ma-jig line up slightly off centre to leave a shadowed effect on one side. It is hard to see in my photos because of the glitter, but it dose give a nice 3D effect.

3. Embossing Buddy

Rub across the cardstock to reduce static before embossing or applying glitter.

4. Sticky>Colour>Stamp

First ink you stamp with versamark then the colour of you choice (I used cherry cobbler). This makes your stamp sticky and coloured in the one step. Now stamp the image. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up with the Shadow.

5. Heat & Stick Powder

Now cover with heat and stick powder and heat with you heat gun. Be careful to heat for to long. This step adds the adhesive so if you over heat, you dry it out. Just heat until you see the powder change.

6. Adding Glitter
Cover with dazziling diamonds, straight away before the glue drys. Shake off the excess and heat again with the heat tool to set.
For a different effect you can use coloured glitters for this step, no need to add the coloured ink after the versamark though.

Now you have a sparkly reindeer. I adore this effect, especially on Christmas cards.

Sorry about the bad photo, it looks much nicer in person. Its very gloomy weather today.

Kimono Kids Layout

I have had a lovely break over the school holidays with the kids, it is so nice to slow down for a while and just spend time together. DH was on leave as well so we all took it easy. Visiting parks, beaches, making camp fires (the first toasting marshmallow experience for the boys) and watching movies. Now the boys are back into term 4, DH has returned to work after 7 months medical leave........Oh our crazy,busy life is back!!!!!!

I got some time to play with some New Catalogue items as well. Oh there is so much I love. Can't wait to share it all with you.

This 8.5x11 layout using the Kimono Kids set. It is so sweet and girly with is a nice chance for me. My sweet little nieces make the page even more beautiful. Aren't they adorable.

Cheeky Monster

Hello,

If you have been visiting my blog you may have seen some cards made from the Two Step Owl Punch. They are over here.

This page was inspired by one of my boys T-shirts. It has these cute monsters all over it. I just layed the shirt out on my craft desk and went crazy with my punches. The ghost is a upside down owl with the feet cut off. Two different sizes eyes from the owl punch and the teeth are the horizontal slot punch.

The other monster is made from a 1 3/8inch circle punch. Eyes from the owl punch (white & blue). The black eye is the 1/2 inch circle punch. Legs are the horizontal slot punch.

It's antennae (not sure of monsters even have these......LOL) is made with the 1 3/8 circle punch, once you have punched the circle punch a thin crescent shape on the edge of the negative piece.

This is the 12x 12 version. I made this one first and the 8.5x11 is a smaller version for a make & take.

Two step Owl Punch

Hello,

I wanted to share with you some cards I have made with the two step owl punch. It is sooooo adorable. If you are an owl lover you will get a lot of use with this.

This card uses notably ornate as the background and a piece of the our new ribbon 1 1/4 inch striped grosgrain in early espresso. The owl is punch from soft suede, kraft, whisperwhite and bashful blue.

Some of you may recognise this gift card holder from my fundraiser. It opens out to hold a gift card in the middle and a separate section for writing in as well.

He looks so cute peeking out of the hole!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always love finding new inventive ways to use a punch. It is more versatile when you have more than one use. I have to say this penguin is very cute!!!! It is the owl with his ears cut off.

I have embossed the water with the perfect polka dot folder.

There HERE!!!!!!

Hi everyone. Just a quick note to let you all know that the girls surgery went well last Sunday and they are both making good recovery at John Hunter Hospital. It went longer that planned 12 hour each. Now their new life begins!!!!!! If you are local, you have probably seen them on the News. John Hunter Hospital have covered the story very well.

I took the twins to meet them before their surgery. They are just so sweet. Incredibly grateful for what is happening. I feel very proud to have been involved and helping in my small way.

Keep you thoughts and prayer coming as they aren't out of the wood works yet!!!

Embellees free kit Layout

After a Embellees class the girls set a challenge to use the packaging!!!! I have to admit I love this aspect of scrapbooking. I get so excited incorporating everyday items into a layout. I know it's not every ones bag , but definantly appeals to me. It must be the Greeny in me...LOL

In the kit was a piece of 12x12 Kraft the cream & blue ledge PP, as small strip of red PP, the embellished shipping tag and black & white spot fabric. This is my interpretation. You may recognise the flowers from the brown bag back in this post here.

Back in August I went along to another fundraiser Crop DAY. You can find out about this one here. Liz & Lisa from Embellees gave us all a little gift. It was a kit they put together as a taste of what to expect at one of their workshops. After looking at it for two weeks I finally made a page. I am very happy with how it has turned out. Their wasn't a scrap that I didn't use. They packaged the kit in a cello bag and stapled with a doilie & their Embellees label. The Dollieis now the white flower with the soft red ink, the lable (which is the same size as the scalloped circle punch) I used the back of and attached it to the top of the shipping tag with the bird cage.

Thanks ladies for the kit. I had fun playing with it.

Fundraiser Update

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick up date to let you know what is happening with the West Timor girls Surgery. They are booked into John Hunter Hospital for surgery this Sunday 18th.

We recently had a Meeting with Bob Richards from ROMAC (Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children) who was delighted to receive our check for $2985.53
Mr Richards was overwhelmed at your generosity. All this will fund their visit and any additional cost will be taken care of by ROMAC.

ROMAC have taken over organising the process because that is what they do best. Each of the girls are coming over with a family member and Lenny who is a Dentist in their village who will be their as a support and interpreter.

They are staying at the Ronald McDonald House on campus at John Hunter Hospital. It is going to be extremely overwhelming for the girls as they face all kind of obstacles, like the language barrier, western culture and trusting us with their care. Even the simple things like using a toilet for the first time.

John Hunter Hospital have been amazing in their generosity. They are giving up a theatre for the day (we all know how precious this is) covering all care, imaging and hospital expenses. Dr Kelvin Kong and Dr Rob Eisenburg will be making up the ENT (ear nose & throat) team, giving up a Sunday off for 10 hours of operating time. Dr Gary Hoffman will be head of the Facio-Maxillary team. Once again donating all of his time and experiese.

Please have them in your thoughts and prayers as they undertake this massive journey, which we are sure will change their lives.

This never would of been possible with out the help of all of you who came along to the fundraiser. I appreciate all that you have done.

I have been Embellished!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Today I am going to share a fabulous workshop I went to recently. I had the best day and came home so inspired. I was invited to the Embellees "Field of flowers" workshop by the lovely Liz & Lisa. This is what was waiting for us on each table when we arrived. We were all given a beautiful hand made name tag as well. If you have been to one of my workshops of late you will have seen me wearing it......LOve it!!!

The girls go to so much trouble to make the day "special" and that is exactly how it felt leaving. It was kinda like a day spa for scrapbookers!!!!

This is the extra beautiful instruction booklet.

Here is what we made. I beautiful canvas that came with a stand and twelve hand made flowers. The book that is mounted to the canvas with ring is a technique book. Inside the hand made album is a photo of each flower and the instructions on how to made it. I am so happy with how it has turned out.

This was my contribution to the class. We made the white lily and a page for the technique album.

A huge thank you to Liz & Lisa from Embellees for inviting me along. I had such a great day. The girls are beautiful and make you feel so welcome & special.

Another use for the Scalloped edge Punch

I wanted to share this card with you because I just love it's simplicity.

I have stamped the flourish from Vintage Vogue in real read ink. Then punched a strip of real red cardstock with the Scalloped Edge Punch. It needs to be nice and thin!!!!! Put some double sided tape on and roll. This makes the beautiful rosette's. Isn't it sweet. I have made one in rich razzleberry on vanilla card, which I love as well. I will post it so you can compair.

Some little bits of Wisdom

It has been long over due since I have shared some of my creations, so today I have a 12x12 scrapbooking page. Sorry about the terrible photo. It was a bit dark and overcast outside.

The page mostly uses up scrap bits of paper from the good morning sunshine range. I wanted to challenge myself to use some rub-ons, so out come the Bright Delights rub-on pack (retired).

The journaling reads "Some little bits of wisdom"
1.
Laugh every day.

Stand up for want you believe in.
3.
Treat people as you want to be treated yourself.

The numbers are rubbed onto a Build a Brad (109128) and the journaling in written onto a punched piece of DSP using the Round Tab Punch (119864).

My sweet friend and up line Karen Robinson made it for me!!!!!!!

It is a CD holder made with the circle scissors plus. She put a disc with photos from Stampin Up Convention 2010. I just love it!!!!!! Especially how it all matches.

Firstly I don't want to fighten you with the title, no not all of these punchs are retiring. Tri flower punch 109183 (three small flowers) will be retiting. Stampin Up have announced that all of our punches will be reconfigured to the new punch design from the 1st September. I am really happy about this, it is much nicer to use. I have found that the young & the young at heart have sometimes struggled with the old design.

Something worth mentioning is that some of them are going up in price. They will be considered Extra-Large Punches in the new catalogue and increasing to $33.95.

Crop Day Fundraiser

I am now back in the land of living after the fundraiser and thought it was about time I let you all know how the day went. We certainly had a amazing turn out. Thank you to all sixty ladies who came along and showed your support in so many ways. We had lots of fun, made some beautiful layouts and ate lots of yummy food............and I know you are all waiting for it, we raised

for the two girls surgery.

I am completely blown away at your generosity and support. Thanks to everyone who contributed, no matter how big or small. Together we are going to make an enormous difference in two little girls lives.

Hi Ladies,

It is only one week until the Fundraiser Crop Day at Hexham Bowling Club (yes it is Ossie the Mozzie). Hopefully you wont need your airoguard !!!!

We are upstairs (lift available) in the main auditorium. Please sign into the club on entry or you run the risk of being fined. We have the venue for 12 hours 9am to 9pm. Try not to be late as Kerrie my work colleague, who travels to Halilulik every year with the surgical team, will be doing a presentation on their work at 10am. You don't want to miss this, it's really interesting!!!!!!

Remember no food is to be brought into the club. Morning & Afternoon tea will be available for a gold coin donation (all going to the fundraiser). Lunch & dinner are available at the bistro. Please support Hexham Bowling Club as they have been kind enough to donate the venue for the day.

Both classes are about half full. If you wish to attend book now to avoid dissapointment. We have over 30 items in out silent auction so bring some extra cash and pick a bargin. All items mush be paid for before collection. There is a ATM in the club downstairs.

If you have NOT paid the $20 admission fee please do so now! For security reasons we don't want to worry about having large amonts of cash on the day. It is really easy to pay either via internet banking or at your branch. If you need the account information, email me and I will forward it to you.

The Color Room Palette 8

Have you been into the Color Room yet? It is worth a look. There are so many talented ladies.

Each week a new color palette is posted as well as a sketch. This was my first ever attempt. I was completely inspired by the sketch, so beautiful and a layout I have never seen before.

Here is Palette 8

I used my circle scissors (112530 $54.95 & glass Mat 112531 $37.95) a lot on this layout.

Firstly I used the drawing tool to draw the circle where my photo would be. I then free hand drew the leaf pattern around this, based on the sketch. I stitched over this with green embroidery thread. I cut my photo with the cutting tool.

I then embellished with leaves I made form the 1" circle punch (109046 $20.95) and spiral flowers. The papers are Cottage Wall (115671 $16.95 for 12 sheets)

My journaling reads:-

Yesterday I was pregnant, today I am a mum.

Yesterday we wanted more children, Today you complete our family.

Yesterday my arms were empty, today you fill them.

Yesterday I was happy, today I am overwhelmed with joy.

Yesterday I loved you, today my love for you makes my heart ache.

SAM Challenge Three little monsters

I missed the dead line for this but still wanted to share this layout with you all.

The Challenge was to create a layout in a different shape not the usual square. I had the sassafrass lass Monstrosity paper I have been wanting to use.

I have just used up scraps of ribbon and card to finish off.

I stamped the nuts & bolts from the Lots of Bot stamp set in the background.

I used the spiral edge punch along the edges of the photos.

The journaling reads:-

I was never really sure how I would cope living with all boys,

I guess you have to play the cards you have been dealt.

Overtime I have grown to love the noise, mess and madness.

It's just how like is with three little monsters!

I have been demonstrator for about a year now and it is the best thing I have ever done. For me it is a wonderful way to fund my passion of paper craft, without stretching the family budget to far. Convention 2010

I have just returned home from Stampin Up's Annual Convention. I had such a fantastic time.
There is nothing like it, catching up with friends, meeting new ones and being so inspired by the amazing talent that surrounded us.

I learnt lots of new things and made some great friends.
This Mel one of my beautiful down lines and friends. I had the great privilege of sharing a room with her.

It was great to meet Shelly this year. Last year I was to shy, but this year I struck up the courage and had a chat. She is the most beautiful person both inside and out.

It wasn't all about stamping. We also did a lot of eating to!!!!!!!!!!! What else would you want to be doing at midnight, but drinking hot chocolate at the chocolate lounge.........mmmmmm.......Very nice indeed.

I have lot more news to share but that will have to wait, yep I have a date with the kitchen and I am certain it won't he as yummy as the hot chocolate and Chorizzo's were.

Stamp-a-memory Challenge 9

This is my attempt to the new Stamp-a-Memory Challenge.

The challenge this week was to use a "Not so Perfect" Photo and then upload the photo in it's original from. Here is a example of one of the original photos.

I have scrapped photos from our Easter egg hunt this year, which were definitely not so perfect. I had trouble catching them as they zoomed pass at a hundred miles an hour. There was so much excitement running around with their cousins finding chocolate surprises.

I changed the photos to Black & White and lightened them a little, just some very basic photo editing. Here is how my laypout turned out......

Family Mini Album

I have been busy playing with my New products for the NEW 2010 Autumn -Winter MINI catalogue.

I Went into my craft room (yeah! i love that I can say that, I have only had one for two weeks. Before that I shared the dining table) to make a birthday card for my Mum and this is what I came out with. I guess it is the scrapbooker in me. Any excuse to whip up a mini album. I loved playing with the New set Vintage Vogue stamp set. The papers are Cottage wall one of the New DSP in the mini catalogue.

I have stamped the boarder stamp and drawn some two lines to make a journaling frame. Each page has a photo of our family and we have written why Grandma is so special to us. What can I say, she loved it.

Circle Circus Stamp Set

This is Definitely one of my favourite sets in the stampin Up Catalogue. I just love it !!!!!!

I have scrapped a layout with this beautiful photo of my son. In the photo his face is out of focus and the flower (well I should say weeds) he is holding are in focus. I just love the effect, so to highlight this I have coloured the flowers with blender pens. I am terrible at photo shop so this technique is much easier. Just simply squeeze out some ink onto the lid of your ink pad and pick the ink up with your blender pen and colour away!!!!!!!

I have stamped circle circus set in just about every pink ink we sell, a well as black to break it up a bit. Then punched and cut them, and layered with dimensionals to make flower clusters.

The DSP is Raspberry Tart, Rose red double stitched Grosgrain ribbon, Clear rhinestone brads and alphabet stickers.

Easter Punch Art

Who Loves Punch Art??????

I know I do. I just wanted to share this cute little chick I made as a hostess gift. My lovely hostess Jan (waving!!!) received a gift bag with these adorable little creature in it. They are a lovely accent for a Easter card or scrap layout.

Very easy to make.

1. Punch two scalloped circles from Yo Yo yellow card stock. One for the body and one trimmed down for the wings.

2. Punch a set of flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch from tangerine tango card stock. The small flower is his feet and the larger one the cone on his head.

3. Eyes are two 1/2 white circles, one 1/2 inch yellow circle cut in half (eyelids) and two 1/4 inch circles from black card stock (pupils).

4. The beak in a 1/2 inch square from tangerine tango card stock, scored and folded diagonally.

Hope you have fun making the cute little chickens. My two year old loves them!!!!
