Artisian Embellishment Kit

Our New Seasonal Catalogue is packed full of beautiful product, but one that instantly caught my eye was the Artisan Embellishment kit. I am not sure if it's the beautiful vintage feel of the kit or the adorable embellishments that I love so much, but I couldn't wait to start playing with it.

I wanted to make a layout only using product in the kit, no pattern paper just beautiful embellishments. I masked off a chevron pattern and used a blending tool with Sahara sand & crumb cake ink to create the background. Everything is from the kit except the designer label frame (LHS) and the book paper hearts are  cut from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslits (125596 $20.95)

I am really happy with how the layout turned out and only took me an hour to put together. The sentiment I have stamped onto the tag is a New set from the Seasonal Catalogue, called Fell Goods (129684 $35.95) in includes 5 stamps each with a beautiful sentiment:-

  1. "the best things in life aren't things"
  2. "She believed she could....so she did"
  3. "Laughter is the shortest distance between two people"
  4. "a friend accepts us as we are yet helps us to be what we should"
  5. "those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves"
 Kit Includes:-
  • 2 designer tags
  • 4 LOVE ticket stubs
  • 3 different types of lace
  • Seam binding ribbon
  • 6 paper flowers
  • 1 resin heart
  • 2 resin flowers
  • 5 buttons
  • 1 heart & 1 round paper doily
Cost $16.95

Happy scrapping

Brother's

I am often asked to share boy page ideas, yep there are no shortage of boy layouts in my albums.
This is a fun one I made a while ago at the Scrapboutique retreat.

I have used a Fancy Pants range, sorry I can't remember the name, chipboard title and glimmer mist splatters.

My sweet little boy

This photo of my sweet little son was taken by his family day care mum. She had it on the wall at her house all of last year as well as the small drawing in the pink frame. The perfect starting point for a quick and easy page. I wanted to remember some things he loves right now...favourite food, friends, what her wants to be when he is grown up.

Tutorial to Share

Hello to all my lovelies. Just a quick post today to let you all know about the tutorial I have put together for my sweet friends at Embellees. I still have the mixed media bug....but had lots of fun playing with Punches on this one.

You can find it here http://embellees.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/its-tutorial-time-birds-on-wire-canvas.html

Paper Punches & Photos

The Embellees team have be at it again and have come up with some fantastic layouts for our Paper Punches & Photos class. If you have been to their class you will know that they are all about teaching new techniques and reinventing the old. If you are anything like me you may have accumulated one or forty four punches over your time.....LOL yes I did count them. Oh I hope my hubby doesn't read this. I love punches and used them all the time in my cards and layouts, but one thing I love is using my tools in creative ways... you know when you stop and go WOW I would never have thought of that.

It wouldn't be an Embellees class without a little re purposing......you know our Lizzie!!! She has been off to Bunning's once again.....any guesses????

Due to classes being continually booked out...the girls have increased the capacity to cope with the growing demand. So if you have been putting of booking in....great news, there are a few spots left. Always a great day out and fantastic value at $60 for four layout including the kit. Hope to seen you there.

More She Art

I have more she art girls to share today. It had been so much fun making them. I mush admit I have been know to disappear into my craft room for a few hours and come out with paint all over me feeling a little guilty....but loving every second.

I wasn't sure whether to put this one on my blog because I really think she looks a bit wrong, but I guess it's all part of the creative process. I have learnt so much and hope through good & bad will continue to keep on learning.

The quote says "She knew love makes the world go around".

This is a interpretation of myself. It is based on a photo of me as a bridesmaid at my sisters wedding, around 13 years ago. I have included photos of the kids & a love letter from DH in the background.

The quote says "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step"

This girl is a modern day interpretation of me......well maybe I am dreaming just a little....LOL!! Should I rephrase that.... this is how I would like to see myself.....it's nice to dream.

Well that is the last girl I did for the Christy Tomlinson She art course. I really had the best time making these sweet girls. I just love how feminine they are and when you live with a house full of boys....you have to get your girly fixes when you can. I seriously love her work and and am inspire to keep playing with more mixed media.

She Art

Here they are, as promised. My sweet little girls...or ladies how ever you like to interpret them.

I recent did the Christy Tomlinson "She Art" course. I have to say, I am completely hooked on mixed media right now (and may have a little crush on Christy as well....LOL). She is amazing!!!!!!

This little lady was my first attempt and I have to say she is still possibly my favourite. I just love how dam cute and innocent she is in her little bloomers.

She was my second attempt. I didn't love her as much when I finished, but she is growing on me. My sister instantly identified with her.... isn't it funny how you can relate to them. Whether it be physically or by the verse, somehow there is a connection. The quote is a little blurry but it says "She left her FEARS behind".

I have some more girls to share with you so please come back......oh and leave a comment and let me know what you think??

Wonderlust Workshop

We had a great day together at the Embellees Wonderlust workshop. It was so nice to catch up with all of my great craft buddies after a long break over Christmas/new year.

The girls were so inspiring with their fantastic travel themed projects. Who ever thought you could use a UBD in so many ways. My favourite was definitely some of the yummiest stamps I have ever seen.......oh how I love rubber!!! (ooh that sound really bad....LOL).

I sadly have not traveled nearly as much as I would like to....once my littlies leave the nest you wont see hubby & I for dust. My LO was all about where we would like to go.

The embellees team & I recent had a creative weekend away at fingal bay. Besides lots of talking and eating, we have put together some amazing pages using punches. You are going to love this workshop....

Paper, Punches Photos 18th March

They are almost booked out so get in soon to secure your spot

Please visit again soon as I am about to share some of my new found love....mixed media.

Flirtatious Speciality Paper

I made this layout recently which is very dear to my heart. This photo was taken at my nans funeral. She was the most amazing lady. Not a day goes pass that I don't think of her and miss her dearly. She loved pink and was so creative, just great at anything she tried.

I have used the flirtatious speciality dsp. The paper pack has the most beautiful doily die cut sheet. Its perfect for cutting up to make these cute little doily's for your pages. My butterflies are cut with the bigz Beautiful Butterfly die (LOVE THIS!!) and the 1 3/8 circle punch to create the banner along the bottom of the page. Thanks for popping by.

Canvas Stamping

Good morning,

I wanted to share with you all some canvases we did recently at my lovely friends Jeana's Stampin Up Workshop.
We both have been playing with some mixed media techniques of late, so decided to try something a little different.
The ladies Misted the background with simmer paint mist( see this link for more info on this technique), embossed DSP for the grass. The flowers were stamped with StazOn and coloured with various water colouring techniques.

I tried to make a more male variation for those of us with little boys in our lives. The ladies were amazing, they all got messing and had some fun trying new techniques.

Thanks for visiting

Beau Chateau

I love this paper which is available in the current Stampin Up Catalogue called Beau Chateau (122357). I realised I have never scrapped a photo of our wedding. It a very simple page. Most of the background is printed on the paper. I have stamped once with Elements of style (120045) just left of the photo. The cute little envelope is the Scallop Envelope Bigz die (113462).

I love how romantic and dreamy the papers are. They are $18.95 for a pack of 12 (two of each design).

Happy Valentines day

Happy valentines day to you all. I have a card to share today. It is part of the Scrapbook Boutique February challenge, to create a project using the photo as inspiration, with the theme love.

I was inspired by the cupcakes and one of my favourite colour combos so I decided to join in. One thing we love to do in Embellees classes is re-purpose, I have used a cupcake wrapper (red with white spot) as the background paper on my card. I have been wanting to try these heart punched flowers for a while now.

I love how it turned out. Now to put it in the mail to one for my lovely friends. Enjoy you day. I hope lots of LOVE finds you.
